| First Qualifying Tournament of
Alabama Bass Federation Inc, 2008 season was held 1 March 2008
at Miller’s Ferry. Thomasville, Alabama was the host City which
welcomed the Federation Anglers. Mother Nature also greeted
Federation Anglers with wonderful weather conditions for the
tournament and the water level of Alabama River was up.

After the tournament day, tournament anglers presented their
catches to the scales and Joseph Webster, of Dixie Bass Club
captured the Tournament Championship with a 5 fish limited with
a weight of 17.11 pounds. Scott Wiley, of L. A. Bassmasters was
second with a limited weighing 16.83; Joe Wikoff, of Pine Level
Bassmasters with a weight of 13.80 was third; Scott Jackson, of
Monroe County Bass Anglers was forth with a weight of 13.12
pounds and Tim Fitzgerald of Big Cedar Bassmasters was fifth
with a weight of 12.09 pounds.

Marty Hadley, Chip Mays, Tim Mosley, Dewayne Smith, Scott
Wiley and Phil Williams of L A Bassmasters claimed the top team
honors with a cumulative weight of 45.96 pounds.

Big fish for the tournament was hooked by Chris Nichols, of
Dallas County Bassmasters with a weight of 7.91 pounds.
Fifty anglers have now qualified for the 2008 Alabama Bass
Federation Inc, State Championship Tournament. A weight of at
least 6.94 pounds was needed at this tournament to qualify for
the State Championship Tournament.
Next Qualifying Tournament is 3-5 April 2008, Lake
Tuscaloosa. The pursuit is on for Alabama Bass Federation 2008
Angler of the Year.
