Al Redding ABF State Championship Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., 2021 Season Al Redding State Championship Tournament being held at Lake Wheeler, Ingalls Harbor, Decatur, AL, 10-11 September 2021. Tournament federation anglers were welcomed by our host partner, Decatur Morgan Count Tourism. Weather for the tournament days is forecasted to be pleasant, comfortable temperatures, light wind to moderate wind.

Robby Brooks, of Team Tackle Box lead the Angler Division with a 5 fish limit pushing the scales to 13.43 on Day 1 of the tournament.  On Day 2 Brooks added 9.48 to his Day 1 weight and was the 1st Place winner with a total of 22.91.  Robby Brooks is 2021 ABF Angler State Champion.   2nd Place is Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club increased his weight to 22.49.  Bill Spicer of Shotgun Sports Supply two-day total was 22.42 coming in 3rd, Daniel Kent of Locust Fork Bassmasters finished in 4th with 21.46; Chad Sykes of Tennessee Valley Bass Club was 5th with 21.22 and rounding out the top six in the Angler Division is Robert Robinson of Bay Area Bassmasters with 20.41

Jennings Earnest of Winfield Bass Masters lead the Co-Angler Division with a Co-Angler 3 fish limit that weighed 9.73 on Day 1 and added another 6.14 on Day 2 maintaining the lead of the Co-Angler Division.  Jennings Earnest is 2021 ABF Co-Angler State Champion. Finishing in 2nd Place is Tina Hill of North Alabama Tournament Anglers with 14.64. Newt Brooks of Team Tackle Box with 12.29 is 3rd, Emory Ashley of Dekalb Bassmasters finished 4th with 11.80 and rounding out the top five of the Co-Angler Division was Sonny Woodward of Team Tackle Box.

Of the Angler Division, Walter Orr of Team Tackle Box was crowned ABF 2021 Angler of Year. In the Co-Angler Division Blake Hollingsworth of Alabama Ranger Club won the 2021 Co-Angler Angler of the Year honors.

Ronald McDonald Team members that were the highest finishers of the tournament were Angler Chuck Thurlow and Co-Angler Terry Pinkard.  Both will receive bonus money from Airport Marine.

TBF Ranger Federation Bonus money winner was David Frogue, Tennessee Valley Bass Club.

Angler Gregg Quinley won free Qualifying Tournament entry fees for 2022 ABF Tournament Trail.  Also Co-Angler Sonny Woodward won free Qualifying Tournament entry fees for ABF 2022 Tournament Trail.

Taking the Tournament Total Boat Weight side pot for Day 1 was Roy Galbraith and Jennings Earnest of Winfield Bass Masters with a combined weight of 21.37.  Day -2 Total Boat Weight was claimed by Robby and Newt Brooks of Team Tackle Box with 16.55.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division for Day 1 is Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club with weight of 3.65. On the Co-Angler side Gordon Lockhart of Locust Fork Bassmasters big fish weighted 3.99. Big fish on Day-2 of the Angler Division was Jeremy Mabrey of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 5.10.  Austin Wilemon of Locust Fork Bassmasters, claimed Big fish honors of the Co-Angler Division on Day-2 with 5.13.

Once the scales closed on Day 1 of the event Robby Brooks, of Team Tackle Box is leading the Angler Division with a 5 fish limit pushing the scales to 13.43.  2nd Place is Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club with 13.02.  Roy Galbraith if Winfield Bass Masters with 11.64 is 3rd.  Bill Spicer of Shotgun Sports Supply is 4th with 11.30, in 5th is Walter Orr of Team Tackle Box with 11.11.

Jennings Earnest of Winfield Bass Masters is leading the Co-Angler Division with a Co-Angler 3 fish limit that weighed 9.73.  In 2nd Place is Darryl Witherspoon of Alabama Ranger Club with 9.03. Blake Hollingsworth of Alabama Ranger Club is 3rd with 7.90, Larry Daly of Morgan County Bass Club is 4th with 7.39.  Gordan Lockhart of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 6.49 is 5th.

Lake Weiss Tournament

08/07/2021

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., first Qualifying 2021-2022 Junior/High School Tournament was at Lake Weiss, Leesburg, AL, 08/07/2021. The tournament launched out of Leesburg Landing, Leesburg, AL, and federation anglers were welcomed by our host partner, Cherokee Chamber of Commerce. In the interest of fish care due to the hot weather conditions a three (3) fish limit was imposed for this tournament event. For the 2021-2022 season there will be six qualifying tournaments.

Following the days tournament competition, the team of Ryan Moore / Jacob Hubbard of Albertville High school Fishing captured High School 1st Place with a limit pushing the scales to 13.21.  2nd Place team was the team of Andrew Graves / Michael Maynor of Hewitt-Trussville with 8.39.  Team of Grant Laney / Trey Trotter of Fairview Fishing Team was 3rd with 7.50. Rounding out the top four (4) of Albertville High School Fishing was the team of Mason George / Kolton Bagwell with 7.41.

Of the Junior teams the top position was claimed by the team of Hunter Chapman / Ryker Sinclair of Sand Rock wild Cats Junior Fishing with a limit that weighed 5.96.  Finishing 2nd was Grant Graham / Gabe Graham of Pell City with 3.85. Finishing in the top four (4) of the Junior Division was Max Plemmons / Wynston Keith of Sylvania Jr Fishing with 2.69.

2021 TBF Junior World Championship Tournament

The 2021 TBF Junior World Championship Tournament was held 28-30 July 2021 on the Mississippi River, Moline, IL. Forty (40) Junior Teams were scheduled to compete in the tournament.  Alabama Bass Federation, Junior Team of Max Plemmons/ Wynston Keith of Sylvania, AL and Grant Graham / Gabe Graham of Pell City qualified to compete in the tournament.  All teams competed on day 1 and 2 and the overall team with the heaviest weight and top two teams from each Division competed on day 3 of the tournament.  Following day 2 competition Max Plemmons / Wynston Keith won the Southern Division Champions Title.

Sylvania Junior Team of Max Plemmons / Wynston Keith, Southern Division Junior World Champions competed on Friday, 7/30/2021 for the TBF 2021 Junior World Championship Title. Twelve (12) teams were in the competition for the Championship Title.  All teams started the day with zero weight and at the end of the tournament day the team with the heaviest weight will be crowned the 2021 TBF Junior Championship Team.

Grant and Gabe Graham were eliminated from the tournament following day 2 competition. 

 

 

 

 

At the conclusion of the tournament the team of Sorrells /Brown of Texas won the Championship Tittle with a weight of 11.04.  Max and Keith finished in 8th Place with a weight of 6.10. Max and Keith received a $500.00 scholarship award.

Congratulations to the team of Max Plemmons / Wynston Keith and Grant Graham / Gabe Graham for their achievement.

2021 TBF High School National / High School World Finals Tournament

Laker Hartwell, Anderson, South Carolina was the location of TBF 2021 High School National / World Finals Tournaments, 28 June – 3 July 2021.  Eleven (11) Alabama High School Teams qualified for the High School National Tournament by fishing Alabama Bass Federation, Inc, (ABF) Junior / High School 2020-2021 Trail. The High School World Finals Tournament was open to any current member of the Student Angler Federation.

ABF teams that qualified for the High School Nationals/World Finals Tournament were Jack Alexander-Hall Hibbs Mountain Brook; Andrew Jones-Carson Underwood, Trussville; Levi Harris-Zane Roberts, Fairview; Payton Harris-Braxton Hopper, Chelsea Anglers; Brandon Berry-Hunter Bright, Helena Bass Club; Elisha Colley-Ashton Johnson, Sand Rock; Benjamin Graves-Landon Shotts, Trussville; Landon Loper-Zack Gaston, MGM Vickings; Landon Dixon-Zack Gaston, Citronelle Community Fishing and Brody Robison-Colton Cash, Sand Rock.

On 3 July 2021 following the final day Championship Tournament competition the team of Andrew Jones – Carson Underwood were crowned the 2021 TBF High School World Finals Champions.  The team received multiple scholar ship offers.  Congratulations to these young anglers and all anglers that participated in the tournament.

Neely Henry Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., fourth and final Qualifying Tournament of the 2021 Season was held at Neely Henry, Gadsden, AL. The tournament launched out of Coosa Landing, federation anglers were welcomed by our host partner, City of Gadsden.

When the scales closed Will Nickols of Shotgun Sports Supply was the winning Angler with a five fish limit weighing 15.23.  Will credited his win to fishing a frog in the grass on the main river.  2nd Place angler was Robert Robinson of Bay Area Bassmasters with 13.20.  Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club was 3rd with 11.43. Logan Shaddix of Alabama Ranger Club was 4th with 11.41. Finishing in 5th was David Davis of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 10.89. Roy Galbraith of Winfield Bass Club finished in 6th with 10.76, Gregg Quinley of Tennessee Valley Bass Clubs was 7th with 10.27. Kyle Glasgow of Winfield Bass Masters rounded out the top eight of the Angler Division 9.93.

 

Newt Brooks of Team Tackle Box claimed top honors of Co-Anglers with a Co-Angler 3 fish limit that weighed 7.57.  Finishing 2nd was Tina Hill of North Alabama Tournament Anglers with 6.95.  Mike Crowe of Locust Fork Bassmasters finished 3rd with 6.91. Benny Richardson of Locust Fork Bassmasters was 4th with 6.81, Dylan Lawrence of Locust Fork Bassmasters was 5th with 6.28. Charlie Culver of Bay Area Bassmasters was rounded out the top 6 position of the Co-Anglers 6.08.

Taking the Tournament Total Boat Weight side pot was Robert Robinson and Charlie Culver of Bay Area Bassmasters with 19.28. David Dais and Benny Richardson of Locust Fork Bassmasters were second with 17.70.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won by Gregg Quinley of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with a weight of 6.09. On the Co-Angler side Tina Hill of North Alabama Tournament Anglers big fish weighted 3.82. Both received the monies from their representative division.

Winning team member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team was Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club of the angler team members. Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club was the highest finishing team member of the Co-Angler team members. Both will receive a $250.00 bonus provided by Airport Marine.

David Frogue of Tennessee Valley Bass Club was the top finisher of the tournament participating in the Ranger Federation Bonus Program and will be receiving bonus money for his finish.

Our next schedule tournament is the State Championship 10-11 September 2021, Lake Wheeler, Decatur, AL.  Qualified Anglers and Co-Anglers continue their quest to advance to, Regional TBF National Semi-Finals, TBF National, BFL All America and opportunity to fish MLF tournament trails.

Lay Lake Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., third Qualifying Tournament of the 2021 Season was held at Lay Lake, Shelby County, AL. The tournament launched out of Beeswax Creek Park, federation anglers were welcomed by our host partner, Shelby County Department of Developing Services, Shelby AL. Weather for the tournament day could not have been better, comfortable temperatures, light wind for the entire day.

Once the scales closed Curtis Coleman of Pro Line Bassmasters captured Angler Division 1st Place with a 5 fish limit pushing the scales to 15.01.  Curtis contributed his win to fishing a Davis Shakey Fish targeting shell beds down the lake from Beeswax Creek.  2nd Place angler was Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply with 14.09.  Walter Orr of Team Tackle Box with 13.74 was 3rd.  Brandon Medders of Team Tackle Box finished 4th with 11.86, in 5th was Robert Robinson of Bay Area Bassmasters with 10.46. Rocky Rockhill of Tennessee Valley Bass Club finished in 6th with 9.95, John Ware of Team Tackle Box was 7th with 9.94. Don Houge of Alabama Ranger Club with 9.49 was 8th and rounding out the top nine of the Angler Division was Keith Glasgow of Winfield Bass Masters with 9.22.

Shannon Dyar of Locust Fork Bassmasters captured the Co-Angler top position with a Co-Angler 3 fish limit that weighed 7.68.  Finishing 2nd was Blake Hollingsworth of Alabama Ranger Club with 7.24. Charlie Culver of Bay Area Bassmasters was 3rd with 7.20, Joshua Jones of Pine Level Bassmasters was 4th with 7.18.  Kevin Gibson of Pine Level Bassmasters with 7.08 finished 5th; Gary Borden of Morgan County Bass Club was 6th with 6.69.  Courtney Hammett of Shotgun Sports Supply with 6.55 was 7th and Sam Swindle of Alabama Ranger Club out the top 8th position of the Co-Angler division with 6.34.

Taking the Tournament Total Boat Weight side pot was Walter Orr and Sonny Woodward of Team Tackle Box with 19.37. Rusty Burroughs and Terry Quates were second with 18.84.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won by Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply with a weight of 6.58. On the Co-Angler side Stuart Vitollo of Alabama Ranger Club big fish weighted 3.92. Both received the monies from their representative division.

ABF Junior State Championship Tournament

Lake Jordan

April 16-17, 2021

ABF Junior / High School 2020-2021 State Championship Tournament, Jordan Lake, Wetumpka, AL, was co-sponsored by City of Wetumpka and Elmore County Economic Development Authority. The tournament was conducted on Jordan Lake, launching at the State Ramp, April 16-17, 2021.  Junior and High School Angler throughout the State qualified to participant in the tournament.

Tournament High School Champions is Jack Alexander-Hall Hobbs of Mountain Brook High School with 28.91. Leading High School Team Day 1 was Brody Robison-Colton Cash, Sand Rock High School with 17.58; however, their Day 2 weight of 9.47 dropped them to 3rd Place finish with 27.05. Second place team is Than Meadows-Tucker Smith of Ft Payne Wild Cats with 27.74. Finishing in 4th place was Payton Harris-Braxton Hopper, Chelsea Anglers Seniors with 24.38 and rounding out the top five was Andrew Jones-Carson Underwood, Trussville Fishing with 24.03

Of the Junior Anglers the team of Grant Graham-Gabe Graham of Pell City with 22.51 are the 2020-2021 ABF Junior State Champions.  Finishing in 2nd place is Michael Maynor-Andrew Graves, Trussville Jr. Fishing with 21.59. Jordan Luster-Ford Hallman, Autauga Academy Junior Generals is leading with 14.07. Jordan Luster-Ford Hallman of Autauga Academy Junior Generals finished 3rd with 21.00. Bryant Billoto-Soren Williams of Chelsea Anglers Juniors were 4th with 16.62 and finishing in 5th was Max Plemmons-Wynston Keith, Sylvania Jr Fishing with 15.92

Big Fish for Day 1 of the High School Teams is Landen Dixon-Zack Gaston, Citronelle Community Fishing Team.  Michael Maynor-Andrew Graves, Trussville Jr Fishing, had the Junior Day 1 Big Fish, 3.84. Big Fish of Day 2 for the High School Teams was Jack Alexander-Hall Brooks of Mountain Brook with 4.37.  Day 2 Big Fish for the Junior Teams was Grant Graham-Gabe Graham of Pell City with 2.49.

From this event 10 High School Teams will be eligible to advance to the 2021 TBF SAF High School National Tournament, Lake Hartwell, Anderson, SC 29 June-3 July 2021. The TBF High School World Finals Tournament June 29-3 July 2021 is open to any current active member of TBF Student Angler Federation.  On to https://highschoolfishing.org/ to register for this event.

Also three Junior Anglers have qualified to advance to the TBF 2021 Junior World Championship Tournament scheduled for 28-30 July 2021, fishing the Mississippi River Quad Cities, IL.

ABF Junior / High School State Championship Tournament Day 1 Results, Jordan Lake, Wetumpka, AL.

Leading High School Team is Brody Robison-Colton Cash, Sand Rock High School with 17.58. Second place team is Andrew Jones-Carson Underwood, Trussville Fishing with 15.79, in third place is Payton Harris-Braxton Hopper, Chelsea Anglers Seniors with 14.82.  The team of Joshua Decker-Liam Smith, Vestavia Hills is in fourth place with 14.27 and rounding out the top five is Ethan Meadows-Tucker Smith, Ft Payne High School with 13.97.

Of the Junior Anglers the team of Jordan Luster-Ford Hallman, Autauga Academy Junior Generals is leading with 14.07.  Second place Junior team is Grant Graham-Gabe Graham, Pell City with 13.12, in third place is Michael Maynor-Andrew Graves, Trussville Jr. Fishing with 12.97. Max Plemmons-Wynston Keith, Sylvania Jr Fishing is fourth with 9.78 and rounding on the top five is Coleman Lantrip-Jonathan Gill, Chelsea Anglers Junior with 8.21.

Lake Martin, Alexander City, AL

ABF final 2021 season Junior / High School 2021 Qualifying Tournament was held on 20 March 2021, on Lake Martin.  The tournament launch at Wind Creek State Park, Alexander City, AL.  Anglers greeted with windy and chilly conditions at blast-off, however, the temperature warmed up quickly and it turned out to be a nice tournament day.  The event was Co-Hosted by Lake Martin Tourism / Alexander.

Upon closing the scales, the winning High School, team was Andrew Jones-Carson Underwood of Trussville Fishing with a five fish limit that weighted 9.59.  Finishing in 2nd Place was Peyton Harris-Braxton Hopper of Chelsea Anglers Seniors with 9.04.  In 3rd was Logan Willis-Landon Guarnieri of Chelsea Angers Seniors with 8.91, Brody Robison-Colton Cash of Sand Rock High School were 4th with 8.46.  Alex Perry-Tucker Hamilton of Helena Bass Club were 5th with 8.24, Brandon Berry-Hunter Bright of Helena Bass Club were 6th with 8.19, finishing 7th was Evan Haney-Josey Sargent of Sylvania Bass Fishing Team with 7.99 and rounding out the top eight of the High School anglers was the team of Elisha Colley-Ashton Johnson of Sand Rock High School with 7.48.

In the Junior Division, Blake Gingles-Davey Shirley of Chelsea Anglers Juniors captured 1st Place finish with 9.92. Finishing in 2nd Place was the Junior team of Bradley Willingham-Luke Kuykendall of Fyffe Junior Anglers with 8.93 and finishing in 3rd Place was Jordan Luster-Ford Hallman of Autauga Academy Junior Generals with 8.45.

Big fish of the tournament was 3.53 which was caught by the team of Blake Gingles -Davey Shirley.

ABF Junior / High School State Championship Tournament is schedule for 16-17 April 2021, Lake Jordan, Wetumpka, AL. Teams that have fished three qualifying tournaments are eligible to fish the State Tournament AL.  High School Teams(s) will be qualified to advance to the TBF 2021 High School National Tournament scheduled, 20 June -3 July, Lake Hartwell, Anderson, SC.  Junior Team(s) will be qualified to advance to the TBF 2021 Junior World Championship Tournament schedule. ABF Qualifying Tournament Lake Martin

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., second Qualifying 2021 Tournament was on 13 March 2021, at Lake Martin, Alexander City.  The tournament launched out of wind Creek State Park.  Federation anglers were welcomed by our host partner, Lake Martin Tourism and Alexander City.

Upon the closing of the scales Steve Ingram of Alabama Ranger Club with a weight of 12.41 was the winning Angler of the Angler Division.  2nd Place angler was William Davis Jr of Pro Line Bassmasters with 12.37.  John Perez of Pine Level Bassmasters with 10.72 was 3rd.  Roy Galbraith of Winfield Bass Club finished 4th with 9.54, in 5th was Chad Sykes of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with 9.49. Ed Payne of Winfield Bass Club in 6th with 9.30. Larry Franks Jr of Alabama Ranger Club was 7th with 9.06, Heath Seaver of Alabama Ranger Club with 9.04 was 8th and rounding out the top nine of the Angler Division was Jeremy Mabrey of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 8.82.

The Co-Angler top position was claimed by Blake Hollingsworth of Alabama Ranger Club with 9.41. Finishing 2nd was William Davis of Pro Line Bassmasters with 7.07. Mike Allison of Alabama Ranger Club was 3rd with 6.49, in 4th was Carl Standridge of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 6.20.  Jennings Earnest of Winfield Bass Masters was 5th with 6.11. Sam Swindle of Alabama Ranger Club with 6.07 was 6th and Neal Davis of Pine Level Bassmasters of Pine Level Bassmasters rounded out the top seven position of the Co-Angler division with 5.93.

Taking the Qualifying Tournament Total Boat Weight side pot was William Davis Jr and William Davis with a combined weight of 19.44. Bryan Wright and Blake Hollingsworth were second with 16.78.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won by William Davis Jr of Pro Line Bassmasters with a weight of 4.28. On the Co-Angler side Blake Hollingsworth of Alabama Ranger Club big fish weighted 3.66. Both received the monies from their representative division.

David Frogue was the highest finishing Ranger/Federation Bonus program tournament participate and will receive bonus money.

Roy Galbriath  was the highest finishing angler team member of Ronald McDonald House Charities and Terry Pinkard was the highest fishing co-angler team member.  Both will receive $250.00 bonus money from Airport Marine.

ABF Qualifying 2021 season Junior/High School tournament was held on 20 February 2021, on Lake Guntersville, Goose Pond, Scottsboro, AL.  Anglers faced freezing temperatures at the start of the tournament day, the launch ramped became a slippery challenge some, however, the temperature warmed up quickly and it turned out to be a nice tournament day.  The bite was slow, some anglers figured out the bite and caught fish.

When the scales closed the winning High School, team was Lucas Crow/Riley Bethune of Fyffe High School Fishing Team with a five fish limit that weighted 19.05. Crow/Bethune credited their catch to targeting grass in about five feet of water with rattle traps. Finishing in 2nd Place was Brody Robison/Colton Cash of Sand Rock Wild Cats High School Fishing Team with 14.04.  In 3rd was Gavin Sigler/Colton Beverly of Citronelle Community Fishing Team with 13.50, Levi Harris/Zane Roberts of Fairview Fishing Team were 4th with 10.61. Brantley Barkentine/Dallon Phillips of Pisgah Anglers were 5th with 10.08, Jessie Owens/Braxton Hearn of Fyffe High School Fishing, were 6th with 9.91, finishing 7th was Ethan Veal/Clayton Wilks of Sylvania Bass Fishing Team with 8.78 and rounding out the top eight of the High School anglers was the team of Evan Haney/Josey Sargent of Sylvania Bass Fishing Team with 6.64.

In the Junior Division Jordan Eli Schwieker/Kaysen Chandler of Trussville Jr Fishing Team captured 1st Place finish with 5.90. Finishing in 2nd Place was the Junior team of Michael Maynor/Andrew Graves of Trussville Jr Fishing Team with 3.49 and finishing in 3rd Place was Avery Piper/Walker Smith of Trussville Jr Fishing Team with 2.43.

Several fish over 5 pounds were presented at the scales.  The team of Jessie Owens/Braxton Hearn of Fyffe High School had a 5.19, Lucas Crow/Riley Bethune of Fyffe Hugh School had a 5.03 and Landen Dixon/Zach Gaston of Citronelle Community Fishing Team had a 5.02.  The Junior team of Eli Schwieker/Kaysen Chandler had a 3.49.

The Bass Federation (TBF) Student Angler Federation (SAF) Alabama State Championship Tournament was conducted on 2/13/2021 at Neely Henry, launching out of Coosa Landing.  In conjunction with the SAF State Championship tournament ABF held a special qualifying tournament for its High School Teams that wished to fish the event. This would give the teams that participated in the event opportunity to replace a previous tournament standing points.  The start of the tournament day was cold with a light rain and wind and that remained for the entire day.  At one time the sun sneaked from behind the clouds and gave a false hope of the day warming up.  The entire days was under cold and light rain conditions. 

When the scales closed the High School Team of Joshua Decker-Liam Smith of Vestavia Hills with 4 fish weighing of 5.94 were the winning. Second place team was Ethan Meadows-Tucker Smith of Ft Payne High School with a weight of 4.08.

With this win the team of Joshua Decker-Liam Smith have qualified to fish the High School National Championship scheduled for June 30 – July 3, 2021, Lake Hartwell, Anderson, South Carolina.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., kicked off its 2021 Tournament season with an opening tournament at Lake Guntersville, Scottsboro, AL.  The tournament launched out of Goose Pond and federation anglers were welcomed by our host partner, Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Scottsboro. Weather for the tournament day started on the cold side and did not warm up very much during the day.  Regardless Federation Anglers were excited to fish the Lake Guntersville.

Following the days tournament competition Bryan Wright of Alabama Ranger Club captured Angler Division 1st Place with a 5 fish limit pushing the scales to 19.79.  2nd Place angler was Joseph Ford of North Alabama Tournament Anglers with 17.68.  Walter Orr of Team Tackle Box with 17.20 was 3rd.  Ricky Thompson of Tennessee Valley Bass Club finished 4th with 16.87, in 5th was Greg Mims of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with 14.54. Mark Mosley of Locust Fork Bassmasters in 6th with 16.14. Joel Wilemon of Locust Fork Bassmasters was 7th with 13.95, Bill Spicer of Shotgun Sports Supply with 12.80 was 8th and rounding out the top nine of the Angler Division was David Davis of Alabama Ranger Club with 12.70.

The Co-Angler top position was claimed by Jeff Cornelius of Locust Fork Bassmasters with a Co-Angler 3 fish limit that weighed 10.01.  Finishing 2nd was Blake Hollingsworth of Alabama Ranger Club with 9.48. Sonny Woodward of Team Tackle Box was 3rd with 9.35, in 4th was Gordon Lockhart of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 9.16.  Jennings Earnest of Winfield Bass Masters was 5th with 8.10.  Dennis Sandoval of Morgan County Bass Club with 7.95 was 6th and Shannon Dyar of Locust Fork Bassmasters rounded out the top seven position of the Co-Angler division with 7.91.

Taking the Opening Qualifying Tournament Total Boat Weight side pot was Bryan Wright and Blake Hollingsworth with a combined weight of 29.27. Ricky Thompson and Gordan Lockhart were second with 26.55.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won by Bryan Wright of Alabama Ranger Club with a weight of 7.29 that anchored his 19.79 total weight. On the Co-Angler side Kevin Smith of Team Tackle Box big fish weighted 6.08. Both received the monies from their representative division.

Winning team member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team, Roy Galbraith of Winfield Bass Masters was the top angler finisher of the angler team members. Dennis Sandoval of Morgan County Bass Club was of the highest finishing team member of the Co-Angler team members. Both will receive a $250.00 bonus provided by Airport Marine.

Don Hogue of Alabama Ranger Club was the top finisher of the tournament participating in the Ranger/Federation Bonus program and will be receiving bonus money from the Ranger Cup program.

“Enhancing the lives of children and their families”

Airport Marine continues to partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Alabama and the Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., (ABF) to help enhance the lives of children and their families, with the primary emphasis of facilitating access to pediatric health care for residents of Alabama and adjacent sates.  Airport Marine has graciously agreed to fund the bonus money to ABF, members who have become a RMHC Team member (donated $100.00 to RMHC). The RMHC Team member (Angler and Co-Angler) that has the highest finish at each of the ABF qualifying tournaments will be awarded $250.00 bonus.  The bonus will be doubled ($500.00) at the State Championship.  Airport Marine will double the bonus at each tournament if the winner is the original owner and current owner and fished from the boat that was purchased from Airport Marine within the two years of the date of the tournament.

Essential Components of the Bonus Program

  1. Members must make a one-time donation of $100.00 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.  Each $100.00 donation will go directly to help the mission of  Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama and is tax deductible and makes each donor a RMHC Team member.
  2. The RMHC Team member (Angler and Co-Angler) that is the top finisher at each of the qualifying ABF tournament will be guaranteed a bonus check from Airport Marine of $250.00 and $500.00 for the State Championship Tournament. Bonus checks will double to $500.00 for the qualifier ABF tournaments and to $1000.00 at the State Championship Tournament, if the top RMHC Team member owns and fished from a qualified boat purchased from Airport Marine.
  3. A qualified boat is any boat purchased from Airport Marine within 2 years of the date of the tournament.  RMHC Team member must be the original purchaser and current owner.  Airport Marine must confirm eligibility for the bonus money.

ABF fourth Qualifying 2020-2021 season Junior/High School tournament was held on 16 January 2021 on Neely Henry, Gadsden, AL.  The start of the tournament day was cold with a wind and that remained for the entire day.  At one time the sun sneaked from behind the clouds and gave a false hope of the day warming up.  The entire days was under brutal cold and windy conditions; however, these youth anglers persevered.  This was a tournament that they will not forget for a while, limited number of bites and cold conditions.

When the scales closed the winning High School, team was Reece Knight/Drew Shankles of Albertville High School with four fished with a weight of 10.89. Finishing in 2nd Place was Hayden Marbut/Reese Petitti of Vestavia Hills Fishing Team also with 4 fish weighing 8.14. In 3rd was Benjamin Graves/Landon Shotts of Trussville High School with 4.73.  Andrew Jones /Carson Underwood of Trussville High School finished in 4th Place with 3.80 and rounding out the top five of the High School anglers was the team of Kenton Bueche/Griffin O’Neal of Oak Mountain High School with 3.88.

In the Junior Division Stetson Grisby/James Harris of Trussville Jr Fishing captured 1st Place finish with the only limit of the tournament weighing 5.80. Finishing in 2nd Place was the Junior team of Andrew Graves/Michael Maynor of Trussville Jr Fishing with 1.91.

Lake Pickwick Tournament

McFarland Park, Florence, AL 10/31/2020

The being of ABF 2020-2021 tournament season started with mother nature throwing hazardous conditions our way. 1st schedule tournament in September had to be rescheduled to 5 December and our scheduled tournament on 10 October had to be rescheduled to 31 October.  We finally got to have our 1st Junior/High School tournament on 31 October 2020 fishing Lake Pickwick out of McFarland Park, Florence.  The start of the day was a little on the chilly side but during the day it warmed to be to a nice day.  ABF Junior / High School anglers tackled to waters of Lake Pickwick and most found the fishing was tough / slow.

Once the scales were closed the winning High School team was Smith McGregor/Dawson Speed of Oak Mountain High School with a weight of 11.21.  Finishing in 2nd Place was Mason George/Kolton Bagwell of Albertville High School with 8.62.  Rounding out the top three finishers of the High School teams was Brandon/Perry/ Hunter Bright of Helena Bass club with 8.39.

In the Junior Division Nicholas Borden/Thomas Burnett of Albertville Jr Fishing grabbed 1st place finish with 3.03.  Finishing in 2nd Place was the Junior team of Grant Hindman/Parker Daniel of Hewitt-Trussville with 1.14.

Big fish of the tournament for the High School teams was a 5.80 caught by Cole and Reece Kirkpatrick.  The Junior team of Nicholas Borden/Thomas Burnett had a 3.03 taking Big Fish honors of the Junior teams.

District 4 National Semi-Finals Tournament

Lake Pickwick, Florence, Al

10-17-18-2020

Alabama and Mississippi Federation Anglers/Co-Anglers converge at Florence AL, to fish the waters of Pickwick Lake for the 2020 TBF District 4 National Semi-Finals Tournament.  The dates of the event were 17-18 October 2020, launching out of McFarland Park.  Anglers and Co-Angler from each State Federation are fishing for the opportunity to advance to the TBF 2021 National Tournament to be scheduled during the spring of 2021.  Mother nature presented excellent weather conditions for the event.

Following two days of competition Mississippi Angler, Scott Whitehead with a total weight of 29.13 remerged as the winning Mississippi Angler. Alabama Angler, Keith Glasgow with a total weight of 19.73 and the winning Mississippi Angler.  Both these anglers earned at berth at the 2021 TBF National Semi-Finals Tournament.  Finishing in second place in the Angler Division was Jamie Long of Mississippi with 27.15, third place finisher was Edwin Gregory of Mississippi with 26.95. Keith Glasgow finished in fourth place with 19.73.  Jeremy Mabrey of Alabama rounded out the of the Angler Division with 18.95.

Co-Angler Sonny Woodward of Alabama was the top Alabama Angler with a total weight of 25.40.  Kyle Hill of Mississippi with a weight of 19.78 was the top finishing Mississippi Co-Angler. Woodward and Hill are headed to the 2021 TBF National Semi-Finals Tournament.  Third place Co-Angler finisher was Matt Pearson of Mississippi with 15.19; Terry Pinkard of Alabama finished in fourth place with 14.30 and Neal Davis of Alabama finished in fifth place of the Co-Angler Division with 14.22.

The Team Pride competition was the tournament was won by Mississippi team members with a weight of 92.45.  Alabama’s team weight was 92.12.

Edwin Gregory of Mississippi was the Ranger Cup winner of the event.

Congratulations to the tournament competitor of this event for qualifying to participate and we hope the best for all.  Let all congratulate Scott Whitehead, Keith Glasgow, Sonny Woodward and Kyle Hill for their qualification to advance to the 2021 TBF National Tournament.

Day 1 TBF District 4 National Semi- Finals Tournament

Leading Day 1 of the TBF D4NSF tournament is Mississippi angler Edwin Gregory with 14.83 followed by Mississippi angler Jamie Long with 12.08.  Lake has proven to be challenging for Mississippi and Alabama angler / co-anglers.

Co-Angler Kyle Hill of Mississippi has the day 1 leading weight with 10.91. Sonny Woodward of Alabama is next with a weight of 10.7.

Mother nature has again thrown the probability of dangerous weather and water conditions. Hurricane Delta is predicated to bring high winds and heavy rain with possibility severe storms which could impact, ABF JR/HS tournament scheduled for 10 October 2020 at Lake Pickwick, McFarland Park is being postponed.  Re-schedule date for the event has not been determined. Apologize for any inconvenience; but safety of our competitors is our upmost concern.

Entry fees may remain as paid for Lake Pickwick tournament or be rounded over to a tournament of your choice.

2020 Al Redding State Championship Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation (ABF) 2020 Al Redding State Championship Tournament was co-hosted by Florence-Lauderdale Tourisms Board 11-12 September 2020, Lake Pickwick, Florence, AL.  Federation anglers/co-anglers launched each day to the competition out of McFarland Park.

Following the two-day competition Jason Howard of Team Tackle Box claimed Angler State Champion honors with a total weight of 24.42. Jason anchored his Day-1 catch with 5.69 taking Angler Big Fish side pot for Day-1. Finishing in 2nd Place was Walter Sykes of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with 23.79; 3rd Place  was a Rocky Rockhill of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with 21.36; 4th place was Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply with 21.08 and rounding out the top five of the Angler Division was Roy Galbraith of Winfield Bass Masters with 20.99

In the Co-Angler Division top seat was grabbed by Michael Reid of Tennessee River Bass Club with 19.47. Michael also had Day-1 Co-Angler division Big Fish that weighted 5.28.  Jonah Hales of Dekalb Bassmasters finished 2nd Place of the Co-Anglers with 11.11; 3rd Place was Haygen Carter of Alabama Ranger Club with 10.38; 4th Place was Brandon Medders of Team Tackle Box  with 9.67 and finishing in 5th Place of the Co-Angler Division was Terry Pinkard, of Morgan County Bass Club with a 2-day total of 9.40.

Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply earned the Angler – Angler of the Year Award.

Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Cub is ABF 2020 Co-Angler of the Year.

Big Fish honors of the tournament in the Angler Division was staged by Jason Howard of Team Tackle Box Day-1with a weight of 5.6.  Day-2 Big Fish of the Angler Division was caught by Tony Hill of North Alabama Tournament Anglers a weight of 6.62.  In the Co-Angler Division Day-1 Big Fish was hooked by Michael Reid of Tennessee River Bass Club of 5.28.  On Day-2 Brandon Medders of Team Tackle Box had the Co-Angler Big Fish with a weight of 3.90.

Total Boat Pairing Weight side pot for Day-1 competition of the tournament was claimed by Rocky and Larry Rockhill of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with 18.53. Taking Day-2 Total Boat Pairing Weight with a weight of 18.23 was Todd Rackley and Michael Reid of Tennessee River Bass Club.

Of the Ranger Cup contenders of the tournament was the highest finisher Don Hogue Jr, of Alabama Ranger Club of the Ranger Cup contenders and will be receiving a $300.00 bonus money from Ranger Boats.  James Moore of Locust Fork Bassmasters was the second highest Ranger Cup contender and will be receiving a $200.00 bonus from Ranger Boats.

Of the Anglers that were members of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Team, Jason Howard of Team Tackle Box was the highest finishing team members and eligible for a $500.00 bonus from Airport Marine. 

Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club was the highest finishing RMHC team member of the Co-Anglers and is also eligible for a $500.00 bonus from Airport Marine.

Eligible Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Anglers and Co-anglers have the opportunity to advance to 2020 District 4 National Semi-Finals Tournament (D4NSF) scheduled for 17-18 October 2020. Alabama Bass Federation, Inc. Has Lost A Great Leader and Friend 

It is with sadden heart that we pass this information on to the Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., family.  Late evening 18 August 2020, Al Redding after weeks of fighting COVID-19 lost the battle to the infectious disease.  Al and his wife Betty were diagnosed weeks ago with COVID-19.  Betty remained at home recovering, but AL was hospitalized for weeks at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.

Most Federation members will remember AL as the founding leader of Alabama Bass Federation and Betty was always at his side.  Al did wonders for the growth of the sport of fishing in the state, the sport that he so loved.  Al will be missed by all.

Please keep Al’s family in your prayers and they will need our support during this trying time.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Final Qualifying Tournament of 2020 season was at Lake Wedowee, Wedowee, AL.  The tournament launched out of Hwy 48 Bridge, Lineville, AL, and federation anglers were welcomed by our host partners Randolph County Chamber of Commerce, Randolph County Economic Development, Town of Wedowee and Wedowee Marine. This was the first ABF tournament held on Lake Wedowee which had been rescheduled from its original date of 9 May 2020 due to the COVID-19 situation. Federation Anglers were excited to fish the waters of Lake Wedowee.

Following the day tournament competition Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply finished 1st Angler with a limit weighing 15.89.  2nd Place Angler was Jeremy Mabrey of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 11.93. Don Hogue of Alabama Ranger Cup with 11.05 was 3rd, followed by Jason Howard of Team Tackle Box in 4th with 10.15. Jon Burt of Dekalb Bassmasters was 5th with 10.05 and Gregg Quinley of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with 9.61 rounded out the top six of the Angler Division.

The Co-Angler top position was claimed by Neal Davis of Pine Level Bassmasters with a Co-Angler 3 fish limit that weighed 9.16.  Finishing 2nd was John Ware of Team Tackle Box with 6.56. Joshua Brogden of Pine Level Bassmasters was 3rd with 5.99 and rounding out the top four of the Co-Angler Division was Roger Peebles of Tennessee Valley Bass Club.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won by Jason Howard of Team Tackle Box with a weight of 5.48. On the Co-Angler side Joshua Brogden of Pine Level Bassmasters big fish weighted 5.99. Both received the monies from their representative division.

Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply and Terry Quates of Pine Level Bassmasters won the Pairing Weight Title with a combined weight of 17.25. John Perez and Joshua Brogden of Pine Level Bassmasters were second with 15.04.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., third Qualifying Tournament of 2020 season was at Lake Mitchell, Clanton, AL.  The tournament launched out of Higgins Ferry Park and federation anglers were welcomed by our host partner, Chilton County Chamber of Commerce. This was the first ABF tournament since February due to the COVID-19 situation. Federation Anglers were excited to fish the waters of Lake Mitchell.

Following the days tournament competition William Davis Jr, of Pro Line Bassmasters captured Angler Division 1st Place with a 5 fish limit that pushed the scales to 15.09.  2nd Place angler was Jacob Davis of Team Tackle Box with 12.94.  Chris Wages of Team Tackle Box with 12.85 was 3rd. Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply finished 4th with 11.84, followed by Chad Sykes of Tennessee Valley Bass Club in 5th with 11.70. The Co-Angler top position was claimed by William Davis SR of Pro Line Bassmasters with a Co-Angler 3 fish limit that weighed 8.59.  Finishing 2nd was Ronald Kirby of Alabama Ranger Club with 7.13. Tim McCoy of Locust Fork Bassmasters was 3rd with 6.89, in 4th was Dennis Wynn of Team Tackle Box with 6.71. Michael Roush of Alabama TBF was 5th with 6.64.  Mike Crowe of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 6.48 was 6th and Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club around out the top seven position of the Co-Angler division with 6.48.

William Davis Jr and William Davis Sr, of Pro Liner Bassmasters won the Pairing Weight Title with a combined weight of 23.68. Roy and Brooke Galbraith of Winfield Bass Masters were second with 17.32.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won by Talmadge Crawford Jr of Alabama Ranger Club with a weight of 4.30. On the Co-Angler side William Davis Sr, of Pro Line Bassmasters big fish weighted 2.83. Both received the monies from their representative division.

Of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team, for the third time this season Roy Galbraith of Winfield Bass Masters was the top angler finisher of the angler team members. William Davis Sr of Pro Line Bassmasters of the Co-Angler team members of the highest finishing team member. Both will receive a $250.00 bonus provided by Airport Marine.

David Frogue of Tennessee Valley Bass Club was the top finisher of the tournament participating in the Ranger Cup and will be receiving bonus money from the Ranger Cup program.

ABF Re-Schedules Lake Wedowee Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., (ABF) to conform to current COVID-19 awareness procedures will postponed Lake Wedowee tournament scheduled for 30 April – 2 May. The tournament is re-scheduled for 11-13 June 2020. Following local host recommendations and current conditions in the area of the event, warrants the necessity to re-schedule. ABF is exercising extreme caution for the benefit of our membership and hopes our membership understands and supports the decision to re-schedule Lake Wedowee Tournament to 11-13 June 2020.

ABF would rather crown our season Champions on stage; however, under our current conditions that is not possible. It’s been a great tournament season that unfortunately was cut short due to circumstances beyond our control. We thank all that participated and hope that we’ll see you next season.

Based upon the Angler of Year (AOY) Scores of teams best three (3) tournaments, the High School Team of Cody Hall – Griffin Boroughs of Monroe Student Anglers are 2019-2020 Tournament Season winning High School Team. Following every close the 2nd Place Team is Justin Hamlin-Colton Cash of Ft Payne Wild Cats High School Fishing Team. The team of Andrew Jones- Carson Underwood of Hewitt Bassin were 3rd Place and the team of Smith McGregor-Dawson Speed of Oak Mountain High School Bass Fishing Team were 4th Place.  5th Place was a tie between the teams of Seth Lee- Brandon Smith of Spanish Fort High School and Brody Robison-Levi Cox of Sand Rock Wild Cats High School Fishing Team. These top finishing teams have qualified to compete in the TBF 2020 High School National Championship Tournament scheduled for 23-27 June 2020, Mississippi River, La Crosse, WI.

All High School teams are eligible to compete in the High School World Finals, 23-27 June, La Crosse, WI. Register for the event at www.highschoolfishing.org .

ABF Junior State Champion Team was also determined based upon teams top three (3) AOY Scores for our Junior Division. The Junior Team of Huntley Dees-Triton Graham of Citronelle Community Fishing Club is our 2020 Junior State Champions. Just a few points behind our Championship team is the team of Wyatt Bryan-Caden McLlwain also of Citronelle Community Fishing Club. Finishing in 3rd Place in the Junior Division is the team of Brody Tuinder-Philip Parker of MGM Vickings JR Fishing Team and following in 4th Place is Christian Parnell-Gunar Norris of Citronelle Community Fishing Team. The team of Dees-Graham will advance to the TBF Junior World Championship Tournament (JWC). The date and location of the JWC will be announcement soon.

ABF School of the Year was determined by cumulative AOY scores (top 3 scores) of the top three (3) finishing teams of schools. ABF’s 2020 School of the Year is Citronelle Community Fishing Team. Congratulations Citronelle Community Fishing Team.

ABF 2020 Junior / High School State Championship Tournament Cancelled

With the current COVID-19 situation / State imposed restrictions and decision by State Leadership that all School Athletic activities of the 2020 School Year are to be cancelled, Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., will cancel ABF Junior/High School State Championship Tournament scheduled for 17-18 April 2020, which will concluded 2019-2020 ABF Junior/High School season.

We realize that ABF Junior and High School Anglers were looking forward to the State Championship competition which would determine the top Junior and High School Teams. You’ve all fish digitally during our 2019-2020 season thriving for the top honors of your respective Divisions.

Considering the State Championship Tournament cancelation ABF will determine our 2020 Junior State Championship Team by accumulation of their top three (3) tournaments Angler of Year Standings.   The High School State Championship Team will be determined also by accumulation of their top three (3) tournaments Angler of Year Standings. The winning High School of ABF 2020 season will be determined by the accumulated total AOY Standing points of the top three (3) teams of a school.

ABF’s 2019-2020 season top finishing six (6) High School Teams will be eligible to advance to the 2020 High School National Tournament scheduled for 23 – 27 June 2020, competing on the Mississippi River, La Crosse, WI. All High School Teams are eligible to register and compete in the 2020 High School World Finals also scheduled for 23-27 June 2020, La Crosse, WI. Lake Mitchell Tournament Postponed

ABF Lake Mitchell Tournament scheduled for 4 April 2020 has been POSTPONED. This measure was taken to support the concern of COVID-19 and to ensure compliance with current State restrictions on groups, events and activities. Lake Mitchell tournament will be rescheduled when conditions permit.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Lake Pickwick JR / HS Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Junior and High School anglers were on the waters of Lake Pickwick 03/14/2020 for the ABF’s sixth and final Junior / High School Qualifying Tournament of the 2019-2020 tournament season. The tournament launched out of McFarland Park, Florence, AL. It was raining at the start of the tournament with in about 36 degrees weather with a forecast of clearing skies.

High School Team of Brody Robison – Levi Cox of Sand Rock Wild Cats Fishing Team took 1st Place in the High School Team Division with a limited that weighted 21.90. Evan Haney – Riley Johnson of Sylvania Bass Fishing Team with a weight of 17.38 were 2nd and rounding out the top three positions of the High School Division was Greyson Kennemur – Brendin Simich of Oak Mountain High School Bass Fishing Team with 15.35.

In the Junior Division, Skylar Haney with an observer of Valley Head JR Fishing claimed 1st Place with a weight of 18.17. Finishing in 2nd Place was the team of Christian Parnell – Gunar Norris of Cintronelle Community Fishing Club with 9.65 and rounding out the 3rd Place of the Junior Division was Elisha Colley – Ashton Johnson of Sand Rock Wild Cats Junior Fishing Team with 9.35.

ABF Lake Neely Henry Tournament

3/7/2020

ABF 2nd Qualifying Tournament of 2020 season was on Lake Neely Henry, Gadsden, AL. Tournament anglers/co-anglers, launched out of Coosa Landing Gadsden, AL. Weather for the tournament day was one of the best weather days in weeks, sunny, mild and no rain. With all the Rain in recent weeks the water level was up, stained conditions and plenty of current. Regardless Federation anglers/co-anglers took to the water seeking their daily limit of fish.

At the conclusion of the tournament day of the Angler Division, Justin Marbut of Shotgun Sports Supply with a limit that weighted 17.34 took 1st Place Angler honors. Finishing in 2nd Place was Jon Burt of Dekalb Bassmasters with a weight of 15.98.  In 3rd Place was Brian Davenport of Shogun Sports Supply with a weight of 15.69 and in 4th Place was Justin Daoust of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 11.35. Rounding out the top five of the Angler Division was Jonathan Olive of Shotgun Sports Supply with 11.35.

Co-Angler Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club claimed Co-Angler Division 1st Place with a (3) fish limit that weight 7.23. In 2nd Place was William Wood of Pro Line Bassmasters with a weight of 7.23.  3rd Place Co-Angler was John Ware of Team Tackle Box with 6.75 and finishing in 4th Place was Michael Roush of Alabama Ranger Club with 6.09. Brandon Medders of Team Tackle Box with a weight of 5.28 finished in 5th Place of the Co-Angler Division.

Big fish of the Angler Division was caught by Jamie Hardy of Shotgun Sports Supply that weighed 5.55.   Big fish of the Co-Angler Division weighing 4.16 was brought to the scales by John Ware of Team Tackle Box.

Of the Total Boat weight competition, Brian Davenport of Shotgun Sports Supply and William Wood of Pro Line Bassmasters with a combined weight of 22.91 won the side pot for Total Boat weight.

Of the teams that decided to compete in the team side pot the winning team was Locust Fork Bassmasters.

The highest finishing Ranger Cup participate was David Forgue of Tennessee Valley Bass Club and  will received Ranger Cup Bonus money from Ranger Boats.

Of our Ronald McDonald Donald House Charities Team competition Roy Galbraith of Winfield Bass Masters was the highest finishing Angler and Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club was the highest finishing Co-Angler.   Both will be receiving $250.00 bonus from Airport Marine.

Lake Martin Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., first Qualifying Tournament of 2020 season was at Lake Martin, Alexander City, AL.  The tournament launched out of Wind Creek State Park and federation anglers were welcomed by out host partner, Alexander City. Precious days rains had the water stained and moving. The weather conditions for the tournament day started on the cold side but warmed up nicely during the day.

Following the days tournament competition Brent Reaves of Alexander City Bassmasters captured Angler Division 1st Place with a limit that pushed the scales to 13.72. 2nd Place was Ryan Miller of Alabama Ranger Club with 11.26. Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply finished 3rd with 11.21, followed by Roy Galbraith of Winfield Bass Masters with 10.14 and rounding out the top five of the Angler Division was Walter Orr of Team Tackle Box with 10.02.

The Co-Angler top position was claimed by Todd Dalrymple of Dekalb Bassmasters with 7.83.  Finishing 2nd was Hunter Encinias of Team Tackle Box with 7.57. Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club was 3rd with 7.55 followed in 4th by Clay Nicholson of Alabama Ranger Club with 6.39 and in 5th of the Co-Angler Division was Joshua Brogden of Pine Level Bassmasters with 6.05.

Ryan Miller of Alabama Ranger Cup and Brandon Simmons of Alexander City Bassmasters won the Pairing Weight Title with a combined weight of 16.35. Dusty Robinson and Clay Nicholson of Alabama Ranger Club were second with 15.51.

Team competition was won by Alabama Ranger Club, anglers Paul Brown, Scott Luster, Larry McConnell, Ryan Miller, Dusty Robinson and Chuck Thurlow with a combined weight of 50.51.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Junior and High School anglers were on the waters of Lake Jordan02/08/2020 for the ABF’s fifth Qualifying Tournament of the 2019-2020 tournament season. The tournament launched out of State Ramp, Wetumpka, AL. It was raining lightly at the start of the tournament with in about 36 degrees weather with a forecast of rain during the day. The winds remained mild and around 12:00 the sun came out and remained out for the remainder of the day.

The High School Team of Peyton Harris – Braxton Hopper of Chelsea Anglers took 1st Place in the High School Team Division with a limited that weighted 20.42. Harris – Hopper anchored their weight with a big fish that weighted 5.80 lbs. Daniel Meadows – Parker Price of Mortimer Jordan finished in 2nd Place with a limited pushing the scales to 20.18. The team of Hunter Odom-/ – Landon Weaver of Satsuma High School had a limit that weighted 12.97 claiming 3rd Place. Also, with a weight of 12.97 was the team of Everett Jones – Conner Sikes of Prattville Christian Academy. Laiton Keith – Lance Elkins of Valley Head High School finished in 5th Place with 12.04 and rounding out the top 6th position was the team of Cody Hall – Griffin Boroughs of Monroe student Anglers.

In the Junior Division the team of Jordan Luster – Abram Hilyer of Autauga Academy claimed 1st Place with a weight of 5.59. Finishing in 2nd Place was Brody Tuinder – Philip Parker of MGM Vickings JR Fishing Team with 5.19 and in 3rd Place from Saraland JR Fishing Team was the team of Cameron – Halstyn Baggett with 5.11.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Junior and High School anglers were on the waters of Logan Martin 01/18/2020 for the ABF’s fourth Qualifying Tournament of the 2019-2020 tournament season. The tournament launched out of Lakeshore RV Park & Marina, Cropwell, AL. It was a very comfortable start for a tournament day with a cold weather of about 45 degrees with a forecast of rain during the day. The winds picked up and the rain arrived around 11:00 AM.

Taking 1st Place in the High School Team Division was the team of Andrew Jones – Carson Underwood of Trussville Fishing Team with a five fish limit weighing 23.15. Second Place High School team was Jackson Isbell – Dalton Isbell of Moody Fishing Team with a weight of 18.24. Finishing in 3rd Place of the High School Division was Peyton Harris – Braxton Hopper of Chelsea Anglers with 16.70. In 4th Place was the team of Austin Wallace – Walker Prince of Oak Mountain High School Fishing Team with 16.24. In 5th was Smith McGregor – Dawson Speed of Oak Mountain HS with 15.62 and finishing out the top 6th position of the High School Division was the team of Justin Hamlin – Colton Cash of Ft Payne HS with 14.35

In the Junior Division the team of Wyatt Bryn – Caden McLlwain of Citronelle Community Fishing Club with 12.77. Finishing in 2nd Place was Christian Parnell – Gunar Norris of Citronelle Community Fishing Club with 11.88 and in 3rd Place also from Citronelle Community Fishing Club was the team of Hunter Hillman – Noah Perkins with 11.29.

Junior High School Tournament

Tensaw River -11/23/20

ABF third Junior/High School Qualifying Tournament was held out of Live Oak Landing, Stockton, AL on 11/23/2019. Junior and High School teams from South Alabama and a few from North Alabama competed in the tournament. The tournament day started with a little shower and by 8 am in was a heavy down pour.

Taking top honors of the High School teams was the team of Cody Hall – Griffin Boroughs of Monroe Student Anglers with 14.31. Dalton Johnson – Bradley Sims of MGM Vickings finished in second place with 9.98 and in third was Hunter Odom-Landon Weaver of Satsuma High School with 9.12.

In the Junior Division the team of Hunter Dees – Triton Graham of Citronelle Community Fishing Club finished in 1st place with 13.99. 2nd place was grabbed by Wyatt Bryan – Caden Mcliwain of Citronelle Community Fishing Club with 9367 and in 3rd was Brodie George – Hayden Johnson of Satsuma Junior Fishing Team with 7.15.

District 4 National Semi-Finals Tournament

Biloxi Back Bay

D’Iberville, MS

26-27 October 2019

The Bass Federation (TF), District 4 National Semi-Finals Tournament was held 26-27 October 2019, on the waters by the Back Bay, Biloxi MS. The tournament was hosted by the Mississippi Bass Federation and the City of D’Iberville, MS. Qualified anglers and co-angler from Mississippi Bass Federation and Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., arrived in D’Iberville, MS to fish for an opportunity to advance to the 2020 TBF National Championship Tournament.

On Day 1 rising tide and heavy winds somewhat delayed the start of the tournament. When scales closed on Day-1 Alabama angler, Jake Childers with a weight on 6.21 was the leading Angler. Alabama Co-Angler Adrian Gonzales had the lead of Co-Angler Division with a weight of 8.92 on Day-1.

Tournament Day-2 has a must beet start with low winds and calmer waters. After the scales were closed and calculating the results Alabama Angler, Jake Childers had a total weight of 10.78 which was enough to secure the top finishing Angler of the tournament. On the Co-Angler Division, Alabama Co-Anglers Day-1 weight was enough to the highest finishing Co-Angler with the weight of 8.92.

Jake Childers and Adrian Gonzales will be advancing to the TBF National Tournament to be scheduled during the spring of 2020.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Junior and High School anglers were on the waters of Lake Wheeler for the second Qualifying Tournament of the 2019-2020 tournament season. The tournament launched out of Ingalls Harbor, Decatur, AL. It was a very comfortable start for a tournament day with a cool weather and a nice breeze. However, the anglers and boat captains were expected the breeze to stop and the weather to get hotter and they were not disappointed.

Taking 1st Place in the High School Team Division was the team of Christian Banks – Christian Broughton of Bryant High School with a five fish limit weighing 9.06. Second Place High School team was Justin Hamlin – Colton Cash of Ft Payne Wild Cats Fishing Team with 8.05. Finishing in 3rd Place of the High School Division was Hunter Baldwin – Brett Battles of Albertville High School with 8.02.

In the Junior Division the team of Mason George – Kolton Bagwell of Albertville Jr Fishing Team with 4.64lbs. Finishing in 2nd Place was Huntley Dee – Triton Graham of Citronelle Community Fishing club with 4.08 and in 3rd Place from Sand Rock Wild Cats Jr Fishing Team is the team of Elisha Cooley – Ashton Johnson with 1.39.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., and Wire Grass Student Angler Trail team together and conducted a join tournament allowing angler the opportunity to fish both tournaments if they chose. Launching out of Live Oak Landing, Stockton, AL.

TBF SAF team members Tyler Malone / Sawyer Simison of Cintronelle Community Fishing Team captured top High School Honors with 4 fish weighing 9 lbs. Finishing in 2nd Place from Monroe Student Anglers is Cody Hall / Griffin Boroughs with 8.40 lbs. Logan Driskell / Carson English of Bryant High School Fishing Team was third with 8.05 and in 4th Place was the team of Colton Odom / Hayden Howard of Citronelle Community Fishing with 7.20.

In the Junior Division the team of Chandler Carpenter / Blake Booth of Mobile Christian finished in 1st Place with 5.74 following in 2nd Place was Landon Loper / Tanner Stokely of MGM Vickings JR Fishing Team with 4.08. Huntley Dees / Triton Graham of Citronelle Community Fishing Club finished 3rd with 4.06.

2019 Al Redding State Championship Tournament

Lay Lake, Shelby County, AL

Jake Childers, of Winfield Bass Masters was the leading Angler on Day 1 with 14.24 lbs. On Day 2 Jake added another 15.55 to his 14.24 for a total of 29.79 to claim the Angler Championship honors of the tournament. Keith Glasgow also of Winfield Bass Masters finished in second place with 22.99. Larry Franks Jr, of Alabama Ranger Club grabbed third place with 21.41. Thomas Foreman of Pine Level Bassmasters finished in fourth place with 21.02 and Chuck Thurlow, of Alabama Ranger Club rounded out the top five of the Angler division with 20.98

In the Co-Angler Division top seat was grabbed by Terry Pinkard, of Morgan County Bass Club with a 2-day total of 15.49. David Davis, of Locust Fork Bassmasters finished in 2nd Place with 14.35; Courtney Hammett of Shotgun Sports Supply was 3rd with 12.68. Dale McCullars, of Shotgun Sports Supply grabbed 4th Place with 11.75 and in 5th Place of the co-Angler Division was Hank Bussman, of Morgan County Bass Club with a weight of 11.42.

The 2019 Angler of the Year race came to conclusion and Chuck Thurlow, of Alabama Ranger Club was the year end top Angler and Brian Brannan of Pine Level Bassmasters was the top Co-Angler for the tournament 2019 season.

Big Fish honors of the tournament in the Angler Division was staged by Jake Childers, of Winfield Bass Maters for both Day-1 and Day-2 with weights of 5.35 and 5.72. In the Co-Angler Division Day-1 Big Fish was hooked by Jamie Massey, of Pine Level Bassmasters with a weight of 5.24. On Day-2 David Davis, of Locust Fork Bassmasters had the Co-Angler Big Fish with a weight of 4.14.

Total Boat Pairing Weight side pot for each day of the tournament was claimed by Jake Childers and Nick Glenn, of Winfield Bass Masters with a Day-1 weight of 20.28 and a Day-2 weight of 20.86.

Of the Ranger Cup contenders of the tournament Don Hogue Jr, of Alabama Ranger Club was the highest finisher of the Ranger Cup contenders and will be receiving a $300.00 bonus money from Ranger Boats. James Moore, of Locust Fork Bassmasters was the second highest Ranger Cup contender and will be receiving a $200.00 bonus from Ranger Boats.

Of the Anglers that were members of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Team, Chuck Thurlow, of Alabama Ranger Club was the highest finishing team members and eligible for a $500.00 bonus from Airport Marine. Chuck advised that he would be donating his RMHC bonus winnings to Ronald McDonald House Charities in memory of Alabama Bass Federation member Marty Carter who recently suddenly passed away.

Troy McGee, of Northport Bass Club was the highest finishing RMHC team member of the Co-Anglers and is also eligible for a $500.00 bonus from Airport Marine.

Eligible Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Anglers and Co-anglers have the opportunity to advance to 2019 District 4 National Semi-Finals Tournament (D4NSF) scheduled for 26-27 October 2019, Biloxi Back Bay and Pascagoula River, D’berville, MS. From the D4NSF tournament Anglers and Co-Anglers have the opportunity for advancement to the 2020 TBF National Tournament.

2019 TBF Junior World Championship Tournament

Arkansas River

North Little Rock, AR

TBF Junior World Championship Tournament was scheduled 8-9 August 2019, Arkansas River, North Little Rock, AR. Thirty-one (31) Junior State Champion Junior Teams arrived in to compete for the title of Junior World Champions. Huntley Dees and Triton Graham of Citronelle Community Bass Club, our 2019 Alabama Junior State Champions arrived in Arkansas excited and ready to fish.

Huntley and Graham were competing on days 1 & 2 against the other Southern Division States; Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee to earn the title of Southern Divisional Champion in other to advance to the final day of the tournament. Following day 1 competition Huntley and Triton lead the Southern Division and managed to maintain their lead on day 2. Huntley and Triton were our Southern Division winners and advance to the final day of competition.

The final day of the tournament started with a weather delay. The competing teams were from the Southern, Central, Eastern, Northern and Southwestern Division. Huntley and Triton presented a limit of fish that weighted 9.13 on the final day and were Crowned the 2019 Junior World Champions.

Congratulations to Huntley and Triton. Congratulations to all the junior teams that participated in the event.

Lake Weiss Tournament Results

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc, (ABF) has not fished in the month of June for several years due to hot weather conditions and concerns about fish care. Well on 6/8/2019 ABF hade our final 2019 Qualifying Tournament on Lake Weiss, launching out of Little River Marina, Cedar Bluff, Al.  The weather conditions were hot, but wet. Rain and thunderstorms were forecasted for the tournament day. Blast-off at safe light was rain free; however, that did not last very long. During the tournament day there were lite showers to extremely heavy down pours. Fortunately, the day was free of strong winds and lighting. About two hours before weigh-in the weather broke and the skies cleared.

In the Angler Division, Jeremy Mabrey of Locust Fork Bassmasters took 1st Place honors with a 5 fish limit weighting 15.19, earning himself a $1,500.00 check. Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply finished in 2nd Place with a weight of 15.15; Jake Childers of Winfield Bassmasters finished 3rd Place with 14.70; Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club was 4th with 13.92 and rounding out the top five of the Angler Division was Jerry Dunn of North Alabama Tournament Anglers with 13.07.

The Co-Angler top position check of $900.00 was claimed by David Davis of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 3 fish limit weighting 9.74. Finishing 2nd was Danny Latty of Dekalb Bassmasters with 8.25; Brain Brannan of Pine Level Bassmasters was 3rd with 8.23 following in 4th was Tim McCoy of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 7.23 and in 5th of the Co-Angler Division was Reggie Burns of Dekalb Bassmasters with 6.85.

Of the boat pairings that participated in the Total Boat weight side pot, Jake Childers and Nick Glenn of Winfield Bass Masters won the Total Boat Weight Title with a combined weight of 21.18.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won Keith Glasgow of Winfield Bass Masters with a weight of 5.59. On the Co-Angler side, Danny Latty of Dekalb Bassmasters won big fish with a weight of 4.04. Both received the monies from their representative division.

Of the Ranger Cup contenders Don Houge of Alabama Ranger Club was the highest finishing competitor and will receive a bonus from Ranger Boats.

The highest finishing Ronald McDonald House Charities Team member of the Angler Division was Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club. Of the Co-Angler Division the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team member was William Wood of Pro Line Bassmasters was the highest finishing team member. Both Thurlow and Wood will receive $250.00 bonus money from Airport Marine.

Youth members of Sand Rock Baptist Church supported our event by assisting out with fish care. There efforts were greatly appreciated by all anglers.

Our next tournament and tournament will be the State Championship Tournament scheduled for September 7-8, Lay Lake, Beeswax Park. The Angler and Co-Angler race for the title of Angler / Co-Angler of Year remains tight. Lake Wheeler Tournament

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc, (ABF) has its third 2019 Qualifying Tournament on Lake Wheeler, Decatur, AL on 5/4/2019.  The tournament launched out of Ingalls Harbor, Decatur, AL. The weather conditions for tournament day started out with a slight drizzle, but shortly after blast off the bottom fell out and there was a down pour for a few hours.

In the Angler Division, Bryan wright of Coosa River Hookers took top honors with a 5 fish limit that pushed the scales to 16.90. Gary Borden of Morgan County Bass Club finished in 2nd Place with a weight of 13.49; Marty Carter of Locust Fork Bassmasters finished 3rd Place with 12.08; Jason Howard of Coosa River Hookers was 4th with 11.84 and rounding out the top five of the Angler Division is Joey Payne of Coosa river Hookers with 11.69. Bryan’s 1st Place finish earned him a $1,500.00 check.

The Co-Angler top position check of $900.00 was claimed by Hank Bussman of Morgan County Bass Club with 3 fish limit weighting 9.73.  Finishing 2nd was Nolen Cummins of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 9.31; Adrian Gonzales of Southern Bass Angles of Alabama was 3rd with 8.80 following in 4th was Joel Wilemon of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 8.72 and in 5th of the Co-Angler Division was Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club with 7.87.

Of the boat pairings that participated in the Total Boat weight side pot, Bryan Wright of Coosa River Hookers and John Ware of Shotgun Sports Supply won the Total Boat Weight Title with a combined weight of 24.57.

Team competition was won by Locust Fort Bassmasters Team #1, anglers, Justin Daoust, Jeremy Mabrey, Mark Mosley, Brandon Skinner, Robert Skinner and Joel Wilemon with a combined weight of 44.19.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won Jack Quillen of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with a weight of 4.07. On the Co-Angler side, Joel Wilemon of Locust Fork Bassmasters won big fish with a weight of 4.83. Both received the monies from their representative division.

Of the Ranger Cup contenders Marty Carter of Locust Fork Bassmasters was the highest finishing competitor and will receive a bonus from Ranger Boats.

The highest finishing Ronald McDonald House Charities Team member of the Angler Division was Marty Carter of Locust Fork Bassmasters. Of the Co-Angler Division the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team member was Josh Jones of Pine Level Bassmasters was the highest finishing team member. Both Carter and Jones will receive $250.00 bonus money from Airport Marine.

Members of Tennessee Valley Bass Club volunteered and assisted with the weight-in and their assistance was greatly appreciated.

Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., concluded its 2019 Junior / High School tournament season this weekend. The State Tournament site was Alabama River, Cooters Pond, Prattville, AL., 26-27 April 2019, Junior / High School anglers qualified for the event by participating in our season Qualifying Tournaments. It was a challenging effort to manage catch fish since the water level was up and heavy stained due to recent rains.

Following the two-day event, the team of Bouldin – Baldwin of Albertville Youth Fishing Club was determined to be the top finishing High School Team with a total weight of 26.48 lbs. Finishing in 2nd Place was Duke – Walley of Satsuma Fishing Team with 26.22. Finishing 3rd was the team of Cash – Middlebrooks of Sand Rock Wildcats Fishing Team with 24.19. Rounding out the top four of the High School teams was Hall – Salter of Monroe Student Anglers with 20.46.

In the Junior Division the team of Dees – Graham of Citronelle Community Fishing Club with a weight of 25.48 grabbed 1st Place. The team of Jones – Sikes of Prattville Christian Academy JR Team finished 2nd Place with 23.54. Finishing 3rd of the Junior Division is Hallman – Varon of Autauga Academy JR Generals with a weight of 21.56.

The top three finishing High School teams; Bouldin – Baldwin; Duke – Walley and Cash – Middlebrooks have qualified for advance to the TBF High School National tournament, which is scheduled for 18-22 June 2019, Lake Pickwick, Florence, AL. The Junior team of Dees – Graham have qualified to advance to the TBF 2019 Junior World Championship Tournament, 7-10 August 2019, Hot Springs AR.

After several months of no tournaments due to dangerous water conditions, Alabama Bass Federation, Inc, (ABF) had its second 2019 season Qualifying tournament on 4/06/2019.  The location was Alabama River, Prattville, AL.  The tournament launched out of Cooters Pond.  The weather conditions for tournament was forecast for possibly of rain.

Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply grabbed 1st Place of the Angler Division with a limit that pushed the scales to 16.27.  Thomas Foreman of Pine Level Bassmasters finished in 2nd Place with a weight of 15.52; Don Hogue Jr of Alabama Ranger Club was finished 3rd Place with 13.67; Kevin Gibson of Pine Level Bassmasters was 4th with 112.05; in 5th was Chuck Thurlow of Alabama Ranger Club with 11.99. Rounding out the top six of the Angler Division was John Perez of Pine Level Bassmasters with 11.54.  Rusty’s 1st Place finish earned him a $1,500.00 check.

The Co-Angler top position check of $900.00 was claimed by Brian Brannon of Pine Level Bassmasters with a 3 fish limit weighting 10.80.  Finishing 2nd was David Davis of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 9.39; Richard Weeden of Dallas County Bassmasters was 3rd with 8.53 following in 4th is Joshua Jones of Pine Level Bassmasters with 8.08; in 5th was Terry Pinkard of Morgan County Bass Club with 7.68 and finishing 6th of the Co-Angler Division was John Ware of Shotgun Sports Supply with 7.67.

Of the boat pairings that participated in the Total Boat weight side pot, Rusty Burroughs and John Ware of Shotgun Sports Supply won the Total Boat Weight Title with a combined weight of 23.94.

Team competition was won by Locust Fork Bassmasters Team #2, anglers Justin Daoust, Logan Dyar, Jeremy Mabrey, Mark Mosley, Brandon Skinner and Robert Skinner with a combined weight of 46.62.

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won Thomas Foreman, Pine Level Bassmasters with a weight of 3.91. On the Co-Angler side David Davis of Locust Fork Bassmasters won big fish with a weight of 5.15. Both received the monies from their representative division.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Team member of the Angler division was won by Don Houge Jr.  Josh Jones of the Co-Angler Division was the highest finishing co-angler of the Co-Angler team.  Both Hogue and Jones each will receive a $250.00 bonus from Airport Marine.

Don Hogue Jr was also the highest finishing Ranger Cup competitor and will receive a $150.00 bonus from Ranger cup.

Our Next tournament is 2 May 2019, Lake Wheeler, Decatur, AL, launching out of Ingalls Harbor.  Decatur Morgan County Tourism will be providing a random $500.00 bonus to an angler that provides proof of lodging at a Decatur / Morgan County motel / hotel during the dates of the tournament.  Come join us and start / continue your quest advance to our State Tournament, National Semi-Finals, National, All America and FLW tournaments.
