Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., 2017 Junior / High School season kicked off on 29 October 2017 with its first tournament out of Little River Marina and Lodge, Cedar Bluff, Alabama. Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce was our gracious partnering host. Represented at the tournament were Junior Anglers and High School Teams from Cedar Bluff, Fort Payne, Indian Springs, Plainview, Sand Rock. Springvalley and Sylvania.
Following the closing of the scales Bailey Duke and Austin Brown of Plainview High School Fishing Team were the High School Team winners with a limited that weighted 16-05. Cody Daniels and Logan Middlebrook of Sand Rock Jr Wildcats were 2nd with 13-11. Jacob Drake and Connor Walker of Indian Springs High School were 3rd with 12-13. Rounding out the top four of the High School Division is Dalton Mitchell and Jake Cagle of Cedar Bluff High School with 12-1.
In the Junior Division, Ethan Meadows of Ft Payne Wildcats Fishing Team took the 1st Place honors with a weight of 5-10. Ethan was followed by Levi Cox of Sand Rock Jr Wildcats with 4-14. Finishing 3rd was Cash Colton of Sand Rock Jr Wildcats with 4lbs and in 4th was Braden Wooten of Ft Payne Wildcats Fishing Team with 3-7.
Big thanks to the Boat Captains that volunteer their time, effort and equipment to ensure that these young angler had the opportunity to participate in this event. Also a round of applause to the parents and all supporters of the Junior and High School program.
Our next tournament will be on January 28, 2017, Alabama River, launching out of Cooters Pond, Prattville, AL.
