Logan Martin Tournament

The first tournament site of the 2017 season of Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., was at Logan Martin, Riverside City, AL.  It’s been several years since the Federation has visited Logan Martin as a tournament site.  The quite town of Riverside City welcomed Federation Anglers. For mid-February the weather conditions for tournament day was clear and warm, but that not be said of the windy and cold practice day.  

At the conclusion of tournament day Tim Harbison of Alabama Ranger Club finished ahead of the field of Anglers with a limit that tipped the scales at 19.14 claiming the winnings of $2,000.00. Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply was 2nd with 15.13. Wayne Voss of Coosa River Hookers finished 3rd with 14.00, followed by 4th by Kevin Gibson of Pine Level Bassmasters with 13.12 and rounding out the top five of the Angler Division is Bryan Wright of Coosa River Hooks with 13.04 

 

The Co-Angler top position check of $1,000.00 was claimed by Drew Blackmon of Shotgun Sports Supply with 12.09.  Finishing 2nd was Neal Davis of Pine Level Bassmasters with 11.12.  Dennis Sandoval of Morgan County Bass Club was 3rd with 10.09 followed in 4th by Michael Reid of Tennessee River Bass Club with 10.04 and in 5th of the Co-Angler Division was David Salter of Locust Fork Bassmasters with 9.10. 

Tim Harbison of Alabama Ranger Club and Neal Davis of Pine Level Bassmasters claimed the Pairing Weight Title with a combined weight of 31.10.  Wayne Voss and Drew Blackmon of Coosa River Hookers were second with 26.09. 

Team competition was won by Coosa River Hookers, anglers Randall Blackmon, Jay Hutchins, Tony Lister, Walter Orr, Joey Payne and Bryan Wright with a weight of 65.06.  In second place was Alabama Ranger Club, consisting of T. Paul Brown, Larry Franks Jr, Rickie Harp, Eulon Lee, Larry McConnell, and Robbie Pelt with a weight of 58.00. 

Big fish honors of the tournament for the Angler Division was won by Kenney Pannell of Shotgun Sports Supply with a weight of 4.14. On the Co-Angler side Neal Davis of Pine Level Bassmasters grabbed the Big Fish honor with a weight of 3.12. Both received the monies from their representative division. 

Of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team, Rickie Harp of Alabama Ranger Club was the top finishers of the team members and will receive a $250.00 bonus provided by Airport Marine. 

James Moore of Locust Fork Bassmasters was the top finisher of the tournament participating in the Ranger Cup and will be receiving bonus money from the Ranger Cup program.
