2016 State JR / HS Tournament

Lake Guntersville JR /HS State Championship Tournament

The site of the 2016 Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., Junior / High School State Championship Tournament was at Lake Guntersville, Guntersville, AL, 8-9 April. Launch and weigh-in was conducted at Civitan Park. Young, Federation Anglers stepped up to the challenge high winds and rough waters fish the waters of Lake Guntersville.

High School Teams of Angler for Kids, Cedar Bluff, Fairview, Ft Payne, Gardendale, Mortimer Jordan, North Jackson, Indian Springs, Plainview, and Sylvania competed in the tournament. Junior anglers from Ft Payne Wildcats fishing Team, Gardendale and Prattville Christian Academy competed in the Junior Division.

At the conclusion of the first day of the tournament the team of Hunter Porter / Luke Glasgow of Need 5 Fishing Tuscaloosa led with the field of High School Anglers with a limit that tipped the scales at 15.53. Drew Smith / Christian Gregory of Plainview High School Fishing was second with 115.03, Jacob Drake / Connor Walker of Indian Springs was 3rd with 14.89 and Tyler Pendergrass / Bryar Chamber of Fairview Fishing Team was 4th with 14.67.

Of the Junior Division Everett Jones of Prattville Christian Academy lead with a weigh of 8 lbs. followed by Will Abernathy of Fi Payne Wildcats Fishing Team with 7.27.

HSWinnersStateTR2016Upon closing the scales on day 2 of the tournament, the High School Team of Tyler Pendergrass & Bryar Chambers of Fairview Fishing Team grabbed top honors with a two day total of 32.50. Hunter Porter and Luke Glasgow of Need 5 Fishing Tuscaloosa finished second with 27.15.   Third was Mortimer Jordan Bass Club members Parke Davis and Aran Stephens with 23.63. Finishing fourth Daniel Meadows and Austin Archer of Mortimer Jordan Bass Club with 20.123.

JR1st2ndStateTr2016Connor Schrader, of Ft Payne Wildcats Fishing Team took the lead of the Junior Division with a 2 Day total of 9.36. Everett Jones of Prattville Christian Academy and Brody Robison of Ft Payne Wildcats Fishing Team tied for 2nd place with 8.00. Finishing 3rd Place of the Junior Division was Will Abernathy of Ft Payne Wildcats Fishing Team with 7.27.

 

By their finishing placement of the tournament the Teams of Tyler Perndergrass / Bryar Chambers; Hunter Porter / Luke Glasgow and Parke Davis / Aran Stephens will receive travel expenses to the TBF SAF Alabama State / Open Tournament, 15 May, 2016, Lake Wheeler, AL.

Connor Schrader, our 2016 Junior Champion will advance to the 2016 Junior World Championship Tournament 4-6 August, 2016, Lake Guntersville, Scottsboro, AL.
