Lake Martin Tournament

2015 Season of Alabama Bass Federation, Inc., kicked off at Lake Martin, Alexander City, Al launching out of Wind Creek State Park. Federation Anglers stepping up to the challenge of winter pool water levels and a prevailing cold front. Tournament practice days were down right cold with strong winds. Tournament day was pleasant with warmer weather and overcast skies.

Finishing 3rd with a weight of 11.28 was Marty Giddens of Shotgun Sports Supply followed by Kevin Gibson of Pine Level Bassmasters 4th place finisher with 10.83 and rounding on the top five was Randall Blackmon of Coosa Rover Hookers with 10.73. 6th – 9th positions of the Angler Division were captured by Todd Rackley of Tennessee River Bass Club, Robbie Pelt of Alabama Ranger Club, Rusty Burroughs of Shotgun Sports Supply and Jon Oliver of Shotgun Sports Supply.
Joey Stewart of Shotgun Sports Supply claimed the top Co-Angler position with a limit that weighted 8.28. Jason Blackmon of Coosa River Hookers, was 2nd place Co-Angler with 7.79, followed by Billy Weatherbee of Tennessee Valley Bass Club with 7.31. Tony South of Tennessee Valley Bass Club and David Gaston of Pro Line Bassmasters closed on the top five filed of the Co-Angler Division.
Scott Mungenast of North Alabama Tournament Anglers captured the big fish of the tournament with a single fish weight of 6.73.
Total Boat Weight honors of the tournament was grabbed by Donald Hill Jr., of Shotgun Sports Supply and Nathan Rowe of Coosa River Hookers with a weight of 18.34. Randall Blackmon of Coosa River Hookers and Davis Gaston of Pro Line Bassmasters finished 2nd with 16.55.
Of the Clubs that participated in the Club Team Competition Coosa River Hookers emerged as the winning team with a weight of 27.15. Team members were Jason Blackmon, Walter Orr, Joey Payne, Richard Payne, Nathan Rowe and Bryan Wright. North Alabama Tournament Anglers was second with 23.91; followed by Shoal Creek Bass Chasers with 23.65; Alabama Ranger Club with 22.04; Pro Line Bassmasters with 19.35 and Locust Fork Bassmasters with 17.52.
Of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Team, Todd Rackley was the top finisher of the team members and will receive a $250.00 bonus provided by Airport Marine.
Donald Hill Jr., of Shotgun Sport Supply, Steven Ingram of Kowaliga Bassmasters and Jackie Price of Golden Rod Bassmasters were the top finishers of the tournament participating in the Ranger Cup and will be receiving bonus money from the Ranger Cup program.
Next tournament is 21 March, Lake Pickwick, Florence AL.
